If you would like the NYCLU Nassau to review your case, please fill out one of the intake forms and mail or email them to our office.

Please review the following guidelines before writing or calling:

We cannot give you legal advise about a case in which we are not involved.
NYCLU Nassau will only consider a case if it involves the government, either through a government representative or through a city, county, or state law.
We will not take on cases that other organizations are better able to handle.  Please read the FAQ page to be clear what kinds of situations we typically handle and consult the list of resources to find other organizations that may be able offer help.
Due to lawyer-client confidentiality and to protect the rights of the public, NYCLU Nassau cannot become involved in your case if you already have an attorney. If you already have an attorney, please have your attorney contact us if she or he feels that a civil liberties issue exists and they would like our assistance.
NYCLU Nassau can only accept complaints about issues that have occurred in Nassau County, New York. Both New York City and Suffolk County have their own NYCLU offices that are better equipped to address complaints in those regions. If you wish to report something from another state, please see our national directory to contact the ACLU affiliate located in that state.
